Mountaineers Battle Ohio in 29–19 Home Loss

West Virginia fell 29–19 to Ohio in the fall home opener at Mylan Park, but the scoreline doesn't tell the whole story. The Mountaineers went toe-to-toe with the Bobcats for the full 80 minutes and made them earn every point.

WVU's 19 points came the hard way. The forwards ground out yardage close to the line, and the side finished off some tough, hard-earned tries against a physical Ohio defense. Every score was a reward for patience and work rate in contact.

Ohio found just enough to pull away, but the effort on the field was something to build on. The Mountaineers kept fighting to the final whistle and showed the grit that the rest of the fall schedule will demand.

Thanks to everyone who came out to Mylan Park to support the club. Check the Schedule & Results page for the rest of the fall season, and follow @wvumensrugby on Instagram for updates.

Final: Ohio 29, West Virginia 19
